Steps to the Evaluation Process:
When you schedule a a Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation at CCNL, we will typically schedule four appointments for you (Parent Intake, 2 Half-Day Testing Sessions, and Follow Up Meeting). The cost of the evaluation also includes communication with teachers/professionals and a thorough and clearly written report providing history, review of testing results, clinical impressions, and targeted recommendations.

Cost of Evaluation:
Please contact us for a menu of prices for services provided at CCNL. Full payment is due at the time of the first appointment.

Payment for Services:
CCNL will help with the pre-authorization and reimbursement process, but ultimately the client is responsible for payment of fees at the time of service. We will provide you with a statement that contains all the information you need to submit for reimbursement from your insurer.

Reimbursement:
In order to increase the likelihood of obtaining insurance reimbursement, a letter of medical necessity from a physician stating why the treatment or evaluation is needed will be helpful. Then, the client should submit the letter along with the appropriate CPT code to the insurance company for pre-authorization of benefits. Having a neurological basis for the evaluation, such as brain injury, suspected genetic disorder/learning disability, or change in cognitive functioning, is often necessary for reimbursement.

The CPT code for a neuropsychological evaluation is 96118. If the client pursues a pre-authorization of benefits for a neuropsychological evaluation, use only the term “neuropsychological evaluation”. Medical necessity is usually very important in getting reimbursed, but the amount that is reimbursed is not assured.

Workshops and Programs:
CCNL offers workshops or professional development tailored to the needs of parents, teachers and other professionals. Contact us regarding your interests/needs at (617) 354-5050.
